Why I Do This Work

Rosa Daneshvar, MS

Certified Rehabilitation Counselor

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor — LIC# 11401-125 (WI)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor — LIC# 21565 (CA)

My journey to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep desire to make a personal, direct impact on people's lives. I originally earned a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Washington and spent several years in drug development within the biopharmaceutical industry. While I loved the science and engineering concepts, I found myself craving a deeper human connection—a pull that ultimately led me to counseling.

Throughout my path, teaching has been the constant thread that bridges my analytical background with my therapeutic practice. Whether guiding graduate students or teaching math to high schoolers with special needs, I learned the invaluable art of patience, adaptability, and seeing each person as the individual they are.

Today, I bring that exact approach into the therapy room. I focus on breaking down what feels overwhelming into manageable pieces, adjusting my therapeutic style to fit the client's unique needs, and trusting that real progress happens at client's own pace. Originally from Iran and bilingual in English and Farsi (Persian), I am deeply committed to providing a welcoming, culturally attuned space for a diverse range of clients.

Clinical Focus

My practice is deeply rooted in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. Rather than treating these areas as general practice additions, I've built my clinical path around extensive, specialized training. Because no single framework fits every individual, I draw from a diverse range of evidence-based approaches—allowing me to tailor care to your unique nervous system and history.

As an LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC-affirming therapist, this commitment extends to culturally responsive care. True clinical competence in identity-affirming work is never automatic; it requires intentional, ongoing study and self-reflection to meet every client with depth, respect, and safety.
